Photos: Firenze to Muenchen

May 12, 2008.

The next day I woke up earlyish - well, not really. Max had to work really early, then Daniela left to open her coffee bar, and Alicia went to school... so I was the last one out of the house. I went to the Tabacci to get my ticket for the bus to get to the train station (which I did in Italian since the guy didn't speak English - or at least claimed not to), stopped by Daniela's bar for breakfast, and then was on my way... Upon arriving, met up with Naomi at the station, and we managed to find our hotel without a map (yeah for Dave's sense of direction and recolection of the google map!). We found a middle eastern / indian type place to eat, which turned out to be quite good, and more filling than we really needed... even after splitting a dish. Their hummus rivals Haji Baba's, I actually liked it a bit better... probably thanks to fresher olive oil I'd bet.

Apologize for the dirty windows... but, its hard to not at least attempt a photo with views like this!
Yes, I was on the train. No, these aren't somebody elses pictures... and no, this isn't a very good picture of me at all... but, here it is anyway.
"The french girl". I had to ask where she was from, given she had a German (Deutsche Bahn) train ticket, spoke in Italian to the conductor, but yet didn't eat the awesome italian bred her sandwich came on but instead pulled out her own sliced bread and lathered it in butter. We chatted a bit in between her bouts of homework, as she spoke English as well. It turns out she's studying in Munich (not normal for the French) and wants to go into international politics of some form.
