First Stop: Payson. At the cabin outside of town, with my b-e-a-utiful girl. |

The next afternoon we drove over to Sedona - we hit a tiny bit of weather along the way. |
|
|
Ok, so maybe it was a bit more than a tiny bit ;). This was me excited to be driving in rain... before it started hailing when I was worried about denting on the car. |
|
|
We made it to Sedona, and after a 30+ degree temperature swing, we were at the trailhead which was dry. The sky was overcast, which was perfect for hiking. |
|

We didn't quite make it to the top... so we set up camp here, not exactly ideal location but options were limited. We thought about trying to book it to the top, but didn't know what we'd find there. So we stopped here, cleared out a spot, and used backpacks to lean against so we didn't roll down the hill. |

Ok, now, this is clearly where we should have camped! Note for next time... We *might* have been able to make it here before dark... but fear of the unknown kept us in the sub-optimal location. Alas - live 'n learn! |

Fast forward... next day, here's me being mr. cool (or mr. lame, you make the call) up on the edge of the rim east of Payson. |

We did a little bit of shopping for Dave's bike... new shoes, saddle bag & accessories, pumps, jersey... and we put the new pedals on too! Wee!!! bike! |

Jumping ahead to Monday, this was our lunch. A bit out of order, but we needed some colors. |
