Photos: London 2003

2003-10-17 to 2003-10-18

This was the first stop on our trip, my brother and I stayed overnight in London mostly because our connecting flight was at a different airport on the other side of town. So we figured what the hey, might as well get the highlights of the city while we're there. In total we were in the city just under a full 24 hours. We just walked around and saw the outsides of a bunch of places, and the insides of a few restuarants. So, here's a bit of what we saw.

Our first stop after checking in at the hotel was the royal palace. Probably more impressive was the huge park in the middle of the city we walked through to get there, but none of those pictures really turned out worth a darn. So here's my bro standing out in front. Thats as close as we ever got to it too.

The red phone booths... and one is even in use! (yes by a stranger)

Me, and the tower bridge. Proof I was there.

One of the better pictures I was able to get in London, as you can tell the others are a bit on the cloudy / dreary side in general.

Funny egg-shaped building. Mostly put it here because Jenny has essentially the same picture from her trip there a few months later ;).

This picture intrigues me because of the new glass-front buildings next to the old stone castle.

This is David Blane in his box that he lived in for 45 days, with only water. This was towards the very end of that period. As you can see, the box is not all that high off the ground, as the tree there isn't an exteremly tall one (not extremely short either). I think the box should've been out over the river.
