Photos: Addie's Wedding

2004-03-20

Ok, Matt Mark & I partook on an adventure to St. Louis for the wedding of Addie Faulds & Ben Bond. Upon arrival, after struggles to get our rental car (see journal entry from 3/21) we arrived at our hotel to meet Addie's friend's friend Tom, who was staying with us the first night and then hanging out the next morning when we met up with another friend Kelly to explore the Gateway Arch. Then the wedding, hanging out with Krissy & Bethany, and after far too few hours of sleep the trip home.

Unfortunatly the lighting isn't great, but here's Mark, Matt, Kelly, and Tom. Oh, and yes, tom's hair is slightly blue, probably not visible in this picture. Very amusingly, Matt didn't notice this blue hair until halfway to the Arch on saturday.

An interesing view of the arch, and the awesome clouds up above. I thought this was rather artistic. Or random, one of the two. Most interesting to me is how it looks like the arch curves from this perspective.

A more traditional view of the Arch. Kelly pointed out that it needs to be cleaned. Girls for ya!

The capsuls that take you to the top and back down. It's a tight fit, but we made it.

A view to the East. Notice the clouds are breaking up. This is a little over an hour since the first pictures.

SMO - Singing Men from Ohio - as I learned from some folks who were at the top with me.

A view towards the West, of Downtown St. Louis.

The arch, from the park to the north of it. I took the sepia mode picture on accident, but it turned out very well.

So well I took another in color. The branches aren't hanging down quite as nicely, but still looks cool. And now you can see the clear sky.

We stopoped in downtown at Wendy's (which took *way* too long) and ate at a table in this park-like area.

And now it's wedding time. Here's the Bridesmaids. 10. Count 'em. Unfortunatly the lighting and such made pictures challenging.

The bride, being walked down the aisle. Trust me, they are walking down the aisle.

Lighting of the unity candle. Probably my favorite tradition in a wedding ceremony.

Bethany! Looking all pretty.

Mark & Krissy

The newly married couple, and bubbles. Bubbles are fun.

On to the reception, the wonderful mashing of cake into the spouse's mouth.

All the girls line up to catch the bouquet.

Matt's a dancin man. He's down the "lawnmowing dance" here, however the highlight of the evening had to be the Michael Jackson moves. Too bad I didn't get a picture of that, I was too stunned at the time.

Addie open's Matt's gift. I think this one is self-explanatory.

Myself, Mark, Ben, Addie, Matt, Bethany, Krissy.

Mark, Krissy, Bethany, Myself & Matt stylin at Denny's afterwards.

A view out the airplane, photoshopped up to get the colors right. You can see the rim and mountains with snow on top in the background. Turned out far better than I expected.
