Friday night Al asks me what I think about getting up early to go to the lake tomorrow. "How early?" "I was thinking leave by 6." "Ummm.... if we can get someone else to go that early, I guess I'll go."

And so it was. After much deliberation, Jenny decided to join us for the adventure. A wise decision, as it turns out. So we all woke up at/before/around sunrise on Saturday to head to the lake. Amazingly, we pulled away from the house right at 0600. I didn't pay attention to the clock, but that would've put us at the lake right around 0630. It was nice getting there at time when we didn't have to fight for space on the ramp, and parking was a breeze (always a concern of mine, since attempting to parallel park with a trailer, well, it's jut not what I would call fun). The water was very smooth since the sun hadn't started to beat down and heat it up causing waves, and there were fewer boats competing for the usual smooth spots. We all three skied, Al was first. We went up and back a few times, for what seemed like an incredibly long time. It was - Al could barely stand once he made his way back into the boat. I managed to get up and actually maneuver around a bit on slalom - last trip I was up, but not very stable. Jenny too was able to much improve her two-sking, as last time she also was just barely up. Being as light as she is, upon releaseing the rope she just stands on the water for a few seconds before the water swallows her back up - quite an interesting sight. I'll try to get a picture of that next opportunity I get. We did take quite a few pictures, and a few videos - I may post some in my usual Photos section here when I have a chance to find some good ones.

The aftermath is pretty bad... we're all very sore. We had lots of opportunity to ski, and Jenny & I did some tubing too, but it was afterwards so we were kind tired already. All well worth the pain thou, well worth it. Maybe next time I won't be quite as sore? Doubtful.

In other unrelated news, tomorrow's my 2nd day of work at Boeing. I'm hoping that I'll get my official badge. I ran powerpoint this morning at church, and agreed to teaching/facilitating the next 3 weeks of bible study for the college / young adult group on Thursday nights since Pastor Steve is on vacation. Should be fun, I haven't been but once and it's a very small group. I'm not sure what I'll do after that, I may start looking around for a church that's closer, or maybe by then Tim & Andy will be back and I can go with them sometimes, so long as it's not all the way in Chandler.
