I'm very proud of the little server that could. Typhoon as achieved 200 days of uptime. Thats basically since I got back from Kansas last summer to fix the ultra-ATA card. Pretty amazing the wide array of hardware that goes into it, motherboard and some ram from Chris, case from Katie (actually a swap - orignal case was from Chris), Slocket from Al, and hard drive & additional memory from me. And from the software side, Debian linux, configured by myself and Tim. Too bad my internet connection isn't that stable!

But alas, the uptime needs to come to an end. It's tie to fix that nasty security hole that allowed the Debian servers to be hacked - even though the vulernable ports aren't open to Typhoon, its past due. I'll be putting in a Gigabit ethernet adapter later this week too, so need to re-compile the kernel for that.

In other news, Sunday was a good day. Church was good, we're studying Revelations now. I really love my pastor's sermons. That's something I've really missed in my past church. Sure, the sermons were always biblical, and well founded, but they didn't speak to me at a level that was applicable to my life. That, and I dislike it when you hear a pastor condemn some sins, for example, having an abortion, yet they fail to mention that Christ called us to love all people regardless of their mistakes and shortcomings. I really like how my church here never fails to balance discipline with love.
