Wow, its only saturday night. Amazing what taking a day trip friday will do for your weekend. This next week is going to be tough, after last week's only 3 days of working. But, let me backup and give you a quick rundown on some new stuff:

Thursday

Work as normal, then I went up to church as I had agreed to help supervise open gym for the jr/sr high youth. As it turned out, T.J. had a basketball game so Steve was going to that, which left me supervising instead of helping. As it turned out, only one person showed up... because her mom was already there preparing things for the sunday bulletin. So, I just shot around for an hour. Then I went home and finished all packing, and went straight to bed.

Friday

Friday was a day trip to beach in San Diego, again with the youth group from church. The neighboring catholic church had planned the trip and had some extra spots to fill on the chartered bus they had reserved. So, I decided to take a short work week and take the day off.

So the trip started at 3am, so I got up shortly after 2 to get there on time. It was a long bus ride, with somewhat cramped quarters, but we made it there. The water was a bit cold, but we got in and fought with the waves for quite a while, barried some people in the sand, played on the playground equipment nearby, and got a little sunburned in the process. Overall it was a good time, and we were all ready to head home when the bus showed up shortly after 6. I have some pictures, hopefully will get them posted tomorrow. I enjoyed getting to know some of the kids a little better. We didn't get back until right around 1am.

I made record time driving back from Tempe, it was only about 14 minutes. I didn't even drive all that fast. Got home, went straight to bed... then remembered I needed to take my contacts out, so went back to the bathroom to see this person walking towards me with a small light... I guess Jason has just gotten home or something... scared me half to death. Anyway, I slept more soundly than I have in quite a while last night.

Today

When I finally woke up, I decided that it was time to change the oil in my car. So I went out to get a new filter, I had already bought oil last time I was at wal-mart. Got back, and realized the oil container was full, so went back out to empty that. So my car was well heated up for the oil change, which is good and bad. I only got a few splatters on me, so I didn't fare any injury in the process. Other than that, I did a little cleaning, bought and put together a shoe rack, and practiced my shot a bit after the sun went down but before it got too dark.
