But branches sure do. And I spent a good part of saturday triming two of my cypress trees. I filled a trash bag each with trimmings. Now I don't know if this is some sort of proper pruning method, but it is obvous that someone at one point in time leveled them off, so the main trunk is only so high, then there's lots of smaller shoots from there up rather high. maybe thats to "stunt" its growth, but whatever the purpose it really creates a mess at the top. Anyway, back to saturday, thanks to some cinderblocks and my 6 foot ladder I was able to reach high enough to trim these guys up pretty well, they're a good bit shorter now than before, and much better looking. I hope I didn't trim too much out of them.
Also on saturday I discovered the blower fan for my heater / air was stuck on, even when the thermostate told it not to be. After some research online, there's apparently a switch which is stuck on. I tried calling some parts places, but they were either closed or informed me that I would have to find a Lennox dealer to get that part. Hopefully I'll have some spare time monday at work to make a few phone calls and see if I can get the part. I'm pretty sure I can replace it myself so long as I can figure out which piece the wires need to be hooked to - so long as the old and new ones look the same with the same connectors I should be ok - assuming I can find a place to sell me the part.
The joys of home ownership! Anyway, I finally bought a couch today too. Went to Terri's consignment store, and they had a black leather sofa & love seat which seemed sized just about right. I was going to just look around, but seeing that, which was basically exactly what I was looking for, although a bit more expensive than I was really planning on paying, but it seems to be in very good shape and is good quality. Hopefully it works well and lasts long. That means I can finally have a house warming party!
