2005.01.14 @ 22:24:51 Moving on

I was thinking earlier, I've been working now for a year and a half. That means I've been out of college that long. It hardly seems possible really. On my first day of work, after several hours of "training" I met my mentor, John B. I'm not sure how he got chosen to be my mentor, as I know my manager was a little hesitant to hire me. However, it was pretty clear that we worked well together. In fact, after a few months of working there he chose me as the person to train for some of the most difficult testing we had to do. Actually, I've worked with John on nearly everything I've worked on. Anyway, I'm saying all this becuase today was his last day of work, he's moving off to the other side of the country, primarily because his wife got into school there. It'll be interesting to see how things change with his absense, and how it will affect my work. In some ways I'm sure it will be good for me, more responsibilities, etc. But its hard to see someone you've grown to be friends with, and work so well with, leave. It seems 2005 will really be a year for change. So much has changed already and we're only 1/24th the way through.
