I installed the new version of Trillian today. I love it. Actually I don't much care for the default skin (although its better than the old versions default), but they fixed the annoying AIM idle problem, and it now pops up away messages when hovering over a person in the contact list. It will even work with my old skin, minus some extra features like video chat which I could care less about (at least right now).

I also reinstalled winXP today on my laptop, I was having various problems with it. I finally installed SP2, and upgraded to office XP at the same time. After years of bad mouthing it, I figured the improvements to powerpoint warranted the switch, and just trying to keep up with the times. I also switched from Mozilla (the suite) to firefox / thunderbird since I don't have any use for the other components in the suite. I'm not certain that I'll stick with that, I may go back to Mozilla instead.

Other things of interest, I got my new pool pump put in, and all is working very well. I'm happy. It's quiet too. Had the tree trimmers take care of my palm trees too, so they're cleaned up significantly. All in all a pretty productive day. Tonight I went to the ASU/USC bball game with the hs youth. We lost, but it was a close game.
