2005.10.24 @ 01:07:40 let there be light?

It's been an interesting weekend. I've been doing a little of this, and a little of that. Friday my new chandelier came (the one to replace the broken one that was finally shipped after they canceled the order... quite a confusing line of events). At any rate, I now have two chandeliers, one with a broken socket. I put the good one up friday night, starting before worship band practice, and then spending almost 2 hours afterwards. I popped a movie in when I got home, and went to work on the light, and the movie ended just before I finished the light. Lets just say I had to get the dremel out to make some modifications so that everything fit right. Even after all that, i'm impressed that the whole thing is held up by two rounded nuts basically. So far it hasn't fallen, so I guess its ok. Oh, and if anyone knows what to do with a mostly good chandelier... I may keep it for spare parts.

Saturday was mostly cleaning/yard work type stuff. Then I hosted the not so popular movie night for the high school group. I guess I learned that emailing everyone isn't the best way to let folks know about things. Anyway, it was a good movie, and at least I enjoyed it. And I got to show off my new light.

Today was church, and take care of my car day. It got a cleaning inside and out, and leather conditioning. Followed by general laziness, chatting, paying bills, etc. Then I tried to put up the sconce in the hallway by the extra bedrooms, but it wasn't working out as planned. They designed it such that the electrical box was vertical, and this box is very well fastened in the wall horizontally. So, I'll need to do some trickery to get this guy installed too. So I decided to paint the area of the wall where I'd be working and finish the job tomorrow, that way when I go back to paint the whole wall I don't have to take this apart again... at least not all the way.
