So here it is, the weekend again. It seems life is just kinda marching along right now, week after week. Fortunatly (or not) the upcoming holidays will throw some curveballs to mix things up a bit. That, and the last tuesday night Alpha meeting will be a week from Tuesday, so that will free up the schedule some too. Anyway, the weekends tend to be when anything exciting happens. Friday night was pretty normal. Saturday morning started with some running, followed by some cramping... serious cramping, which I had to bike home with - luckily its not too far. Did some setting up of ubuntu linux (a debian distro), in the afternoon and changed the oil in my car. Then on to Danielle's birthday party dinner @ Chino Bandito in Chandler. We'll pick up the next paragraph there.
So, imagine chinese food prepared as mexican dishes. Thats what Chino Bandito does, and pulls off farily well. The menu/ordering system is too complicated, but the food turns out pretty good. Example: beans, rice, and a crispy red chicken (kinda like orange chicken) quesadilla. I personally didn't think it was excellent, but it was good. Not cheap, but not expensive either.
After dinner we all went to Skateland. Yes, Skateland. You remember, that place you liked to hang out in junior high? Okay, maybe not you specificly, but you get the idea. Since there was a lot of us there, it was pretty fun. Unfortunatly I didn't bring my camera with me, but maybe I can get some from the other folks and post one or two. Anyway, there was about 14 of us in all. The crowd was basically junior high or younger kids, and then us (25-30ish) and then some older folks. Amazingly the kids weren't very obnoxious. Only one kid that seemed to enjoy falling down and being in people's way. And the one boy who you could have easily mistaken for a girl. But I digress. No, I didn't fall, and no, I didn't run into anyone either - even thou I haven't been inside a skating place since... well, probably grade school age. I was even impressed that Mo, who hasn't skated before, got out there and learned pretty fast. One or two more trips and she'd be a pro!
Church this morning, and we might have someone new to do our sound - someone who actually knows more than me about it! I'm excited. After church was yard work, trimmed the hedge in the back yard and cleaned up all the leaves & mowed the lawn. Went over to Costco to pickup some socks, I think mine are disappearing in the dryer. Stopped by Target on the way back, did you know they sell bright orange underwear? I guess if you're going hunting and your pants have holes in the seat then people won't shoot your butt. I sorta have this thing for orange clothing, ever since high school - but I try to keep it in moderation. My favorite is the bright orange sweatshirt that I have.
