Actually this won't really be a tale, or a very perhaps a very short one. Anyway, I thought it would be nice to post a picture of my latest house project. So here is my living room complete with fan. A bit about this fan, it took about 30 minutes of crawing in the attic (see this entry for a picture of that). However, that picture really makes it look easy. Let's just say its a good thing I'm fairly skinny. It took about 30 minutes I'd estimate to crawl to the part of the attic I needed to be in, once I was in the attic. It also took cutting 3 holes in the drywall and about an hour to fish the wire down the wall to the switch box. I finally resolved to pulling one of the existing wires up to the ceiling (one of the holes I cut was in the ceiling), and pulling that and the new one both back down. Amazingly everything worked right the first time, if you ignore the minor fact that I put the switch in upside down. Now all thats left for this room is to decide on permanently mounting the surround speakers and do something with the bookshelves (replace them maybe). Thats pretty low on mr. priority list.
