2006.04.03 @ 22:33:18 Another year down

I was trying to think what significance there is to turning 26. I've come up with only one thing: A whole year of cheap car insurance. Yup, that's right, I've saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by getting older.

So my Birthday was last week Thursday, just in case you didn't remember. That day was rather busy, as we had a building committee meeting at church to discuss the 3 hours of architect interviews we had the previous Tuesday. Followed by a short break, then praise band practice. So I didn't really do anything "special" on my birthday.

Practice was rather fun though. We did a new song this week, "My Savior My God" by Aaron Shust. Great song. Tim of course did the honors of writing up some sheet music for us. We played it immediatly before the church service started on Sunday, and actually got applause. Not that that's what we're going for, by any means. However, it was nice to see people actually somewhat excited about the music for a change.

I had a BBQ on Saturday night to celebrate, and cooked lots of food. All sorts of folks stopped by, which was nice. It was an excellent time. I had so much food I invited several people from the worship band over Sunday after church to help eat more of it. The weather both days just screamed "be outside, have a cookout".
