2003.03.06 @ 23:14:00 Burned & Ready

My bag is packed, music is burned, all that's left now is dinner, sleep, and a trip to the airport! I again spent much time today wading through my masses of music. The time I spent earlier this week paid off, much easier to build a CD of similarly typed music when it's somewhat sorted. I re-created my first mix CD adding to songs by particular artists already on the CD and a few others, as well as updates to songs which hadn't been named proper or re-encoded for optimal performance. I also created a second mix CD which has an even wider variety such as Techno (such as Robert Miles, Eiffel 65), Hard Rock (such as Guns N' Roses, Aerosmith), Alternative (such as Everclear, Nirvana, Matchbox 20), Classic Rock (such as 38 Special, AC/DC, Rolling Stones), Pop Rock (such as Billy Joel), Punk Rock (such as Noise Ratchet, Mxpx), and others like Tom Petty and Clapton where I'm not sure what group they really fit into.

Even after all the effort Tim & I spent last semester to define what kind of music I like, which is on the About Me section, I still don't think it is accurate. I don't know if it is possible to summarize my likes and dislikes. One thing I do know, a large portion of the music I enjoy was gathered because of the people I happened to be living with at the time. For example, whenever I hear Luna Halo I think of Chris, or Baltimore reminds me of Dan Bubany, Paul Simon reminds me of Al, Switchfoot & Skillet remind me of Matt. This year bands like Jimmy Eat World, Something Corporate can be attributed to Tim. Additionally, I've definitly found other bands such as one of my current favorites Hangnail which has a much different sound than my previous musical favoriates (mostly Classic Rock). One of the cool things about roommates is you pickup new things such as music they like or habbits they have. Indeed. We only hope that they are good.

Enough rambling about things that don't really matter. It's dinner time, late tonite due to Andy's Lasagna creation (mmmmm... smells good!)
