2003.03.17 @ 20:14:41 Breaking into Spring

It's officially spring break. Yup. There's a little bit of me that knows this fact, most of me is ignoring it. You see, one of my classes this trimester is "applied project" which is cool, 'cause we go to a company and do a project for them instead of writing a thesis. Nobody like's writing a thesis. I guess if I were writing I'd be spending this time working on it, so it's only fair that I have meetings pertaining to my project too. I had a meeting today at 1000-1130 which lasted until 1200. I'm not a fan of meetings that go over time. We have another scheduled for Wednesday too. I am happy about the project thou, we were originally supposed to look into "email marketing" software, i.e. spam. Not exactly my idea of fun. Now we're doing something different, 'cause the management in Europe didn't like the "spam project".

in other news, Friday night was Board/Card Game night with Campus Ambassadors. It was also the night that Jason proposed to Michelle. It was fun. I hauled my keyboard over to their apartment so that Ryan could accompany Jason in a song prior to the actual proposal. Apparently there were several iterations to the plan for the proposal, I'm glad I could help out. It marked the first time the keyboard had been moved since I bought it and put it in our apartment. Also that night Leslie asked if I could watch her cat, since Ricardo & She were both going out of town. After some thought, I said yes. As it turned out, Ricardo's mother was called up for duty, I think Air Force, right before Ricardo was supposed to fly out to visit her, so the cat is still with him. I was actually looking forward to having the cat around, a nice change of pace for spring break and all. However, it's probably a good thing since Tim's parents are going to be here next week and his father is very allergic, we'd have had to do a thorough cleaning job.

Saturday I spent most of the day at Al's house helping him string speaker wire thru the attic, as well as washing all the bugs off my new car. Afterwards we came back and had burgers & Tim-made apple pie. We won't talk about the hash browns. After dinner we went to Jonathon’s and watched a plethora of Simpson's episodes. It was great fun.

After my meeting today I stopped by the Nissan dealership to see about getting some warranty work done on my car. They didn't have time to look at it that afternoon, so instead I came home for lunch. Afterwards I went and put new wiper blade insert's in Jenny's car. She's in California, so she won't find out about that until she gets back. I had never replaced the inserts, it's quite easy to do. It having rained the past two days reminded me that hers were really bad. Speaking of the weather, it's colder here than in Kansas! 15 degrees no less. Go figure.
