2003.03.31 @ 20:45:54 Late

I dislike being late. I think most people who know me are aware of that. The whole concept of being late is just not one of my favorites. Today was my day for dealing with being late and things going late.

It all started the moment I woke up. I turned over to see my alarm clock, although that wasn't even necessary because I could hear that Tim was already up and in the bathroom. It was past 8:00. My class starts in 30 minutes. I should be leaving now. Luckily I had taken a shower last night, so the process for getting out the door was fairly quick. I made it about class about 8 minutes late, not to bad considering.

As usual, my classes all ran past the time that they're supposed to get out. They got progressively worse as the day went on too. After our 2nd class, I grabbed some lunch and met up with my applied project team. We went to AvNet to meet with our sponsors for our weekly update meeting as well as time to get more documents and things from them we need to continue working. We were actually early getting there! However, we left 15 minutes past the time that we were supposed to. So, we were rushing to get back to campus to make it to our next class. We decided to park in the visitor parking in Str 1 to save some time, figuring it'd only be for 2 hours so $2 - not a horrible price to pay for being 15 minutes late. We were still 5 minutes late to class.

The class is only supposed to be 1 hour 50 minutes long. It went longer. A couple students asked very involved questions right at the end of class. I dislike it when people do that, bring it up on your own time or the next class period if it's important for everyone. Anyway, class ran over about 12 minutes. Of course, after that people were trying to stop me to talk about projects that are going on and such, but my one task was to get my car out of visitor parking without having to pay that extra dollar for 3 hours. It didn't work. I reluctantly paid the extra dollar and headed home.

Besides all that, the last class was very mind numbing, and I wouldn't have missed anything had I just gone to Str 4 and been a few minutes later. Lesson learned...
