Thanks in large part to the latest Qwest incident, along with plans I was already making, I've signed up for Internet service with Cox - faster, cheaper - but no more hosting. I still have the Qwest line (for now). However, I've moved all of the websites that used to be hosted on Typhoon to another server, with the exception of this one - thetyphoon.net. I need to re-write the code used for the blog, as well as moving the email that I'm hosting to google (bye bye spam!). The net result should be faster websites and less cost to me. Yay!
So right now at home I have two connections, but one network... so I had to do some moving around to get the right machines to use the right gateways. Luckily I have two routers. I moved typhoon to the other router, since it has always had a static IP that doesn't use DHCP (one less thing to break) so it was easy to tell it to use the router that isn't setup for DHCP. It seems I forgot to forward the port for secure IMAP (I thought it was setup... apparently not)... so, webmail is broken until I get home tonight. Oops. One interesting thing is I have two routes to get to my server... either directly across my lan, or I can feed it out over cox and back in over qwest. Kinda neat, but rather pointless... and since I only have pointless things left to say, I'll stop.
