In our continuing efforts to prove to ourselves that just because we're now parents we don't have to become "lame" (and I'm not talking about the mp3 encoder), we decided last Thursday evening to up and take a quick weekend jaunt to Vegas so that Adam could meet my aunt and uncle who were traveling there for the national rodeo finals. That makes two weekend trips in a row, and I think we're all traveled out for a while.
Adam enjoyed all the bright lights and the fountains. Okay, I enjoyed the fountains too. None of us were big on the smoke-filled casinos that you have to walk through to get anywhere. Ah, Vegas. We only stayed one night, and Adam was awake 3 times. The night before we left, he slept through the night for the first time. Well, technically two nights prior he only woke up once and he fell back asleep within a few minutes before we could convince ourselves to get out of bed. There is hope on the horizon.
The lack of sleep caught up with Kristen - the sore throat started on the long car trip home (thanks to Nevada's road construction... seriously poor planning on their part) and was much worse this morning. Otherwise Adam is maybe sorta starting to get used to longer car trips... although he is still pretty much either fussy or sleeping; we still need to work on some happy-awake time in the car.
