This entry is brought to you by the future me who can't remember how old Adam was when he first started...
To sit up on his own. Today he impressed us all by sitting up for several minutes unassisted.
To eat veggies. Today he had green beans for the first time, which he seemed to like. The past 3 days he chowed down on carrots and loved those too. The peas, not so much his favorite. I may have ruined that by squishing up peas and feeding them to him while we were in Austin. Perhaps we should have stuck with the well-blended kind. He's been eating cereal for quite some time, and we now mix it to be about as thick as possible. I figure he has enough drool anyway.
To "walk" across the room (assisted by holding onto our fingers). He started this in Austin, and continues to walk around about any time we give him the opportunity.
He still loves his bumper jumper, and the jumperoo too. He has spent as much as 2 hours happily jumping away... and often takes naps in both.
When not vertical, he still loves rolling around on the floor. We did some re-decorating in our living room to prepare for a crawling/walking child. The glass-top coffee table has retired to storage, replaced with some ottomans for toy storage. He also has a renewed interest in his play gym, it seems he's understanding that the light flashes in time to the music and he's much more purposeful when playing with the toys.
Adam still has his fussy moments, but they're far less intense and generally easily solved by picking him up, changing the diaper, or feeding. Most any sever cry can be calmed by letting him hold our fingers and stand up - he loves it that much. When those fail, it's almost always because he's tired. Then we just put him to bed and wait, usually no longer than 5 minutes and he's out. He does a lot of throwing his head back and squirming around when he's upset, often knocking his head into whatever is nearby (often that would be my own head).
Almost forgot... his favorite toy on the changing table: his feet. He was sucking pretty good on that big toe this evening!
