2011.06.15 @ 19:24:51 Back from Europe, new job, and a walking monster!

Kristen and I just returned from a 2 week trip to Europe -- Paris & Nancy in France and Florence & Rome in Italy. In brief, the trip was good but the airlines -- especially United/Continental -- really need to get their acts together. Kristen and I saw the highlights in Paris, visited her good friend in Nancy. We took the night train to Florence where we saw my relatives there and had a great time touring the city and nearby countryside, even if it did rain a little. Oh, and lots and lots of really good food.

In other news, I'm quitting my job with Boeing this week and starting a new job at Garmin next week. It will be exciting to start with a new company, although it will be strange to no longer work on the Apache. I will say that working from home has been quite nice, but I'm also ready to return to an office environment. Given the option I think about a 50/50 office/home split would be ideal for me. Anyway, my new position will involve working on automotive navigation systems, and the office is about half an hour away.

Since we were out of the country Adam was staying with family in Austin I don't have a whole lot of photos of him, but I do have a few that I'll post soon. There are also lots of photos from the trip to process too! He is a walking monster now, able to stand up without any support as well as squat down to pick up a toy. We'll be sure and get some video of that soon too.
