I can't believe that I actually lived through another weekend. By that I don't mean that I thought I was going to die, but moreso I don't feel like there was ever a break. Here's a rundown on recent happenings.
Friday night, watched the movie Fargo. It was rather entertaining. I like the simplicity of the people portrayed in the movie. Stayed up (if half falling asleep on the couch counts) hanging out with folks that were over. Had all sorts of difficulty getting to sleep, and I had to get up earlyish Saturday for a 9:00 meeting. I was pretty beat all day Saturday, two 3 hour long back-to-back meetings along with lack of sleep played a pretty good toll. After that I stopped by CA's park day event going on at Daley park. We did some fun water balloon events, and other fun things like relay races. And of course, food. It was good to relax a bit. Got some pictures, someday I'll post them.
After park day I came home and lounged around while doing some homework. Wireless laptop if very handy in these situations. Actually, before I did anything I slept for an hour on the couch, and woke up still tired, but needed to get some things done. After that, chatting with Andy a bit, I attempted to sleep again. For how tired I was, I wasn't very successful. I woke up several times, and all that. In fact, I woke up a few minutes before my alarm was supposed to go off to get me up for church, still feeling just as tired as when I went to bed. Contemplating my options, I figured if I wasn't getting any more rest by sleeping I might as well get up.
Church was good, as usual. We're almost done going through Hebrews. Dave Anderson helped fill in on the piano, the usual player wasn't there today. He did some fun improvising, which is pretty uncommon but also kinda cool. Afterwards, the people in front of me asked if I was related to the pastor, Pastor John. They said I looked and sounded a lot like him. Ironically, earlier during the Sermon I noticed that we have similar hairlines.
After church, did some more homework and then headed to Gammage to watch/hear the Brahms Requiem. It was done very well. My favorite is the 6th movement, to me it seemed the most powerful. Afterwards came home, and Jenny stopped by to work on her Bio video for honors credit. I helped edit together some powerpoints along with footage of a frog dissection. The joy's of analog editing. It was kinda fun, I enjoy doing things like that. I do wish I had a nice video editing machine to do it, or even a cheap one... Ah, the days of radio & TV class back in high school. Fun stuff! We got it done regardless, hopefully it'll be good enough.
