"Your car is leaking oil." Is not something you want to hear.

It's not coming from the oil pan, but not too far away... but wait, there's some coming out here right by the motor mount. It turns out it's not oil, but rather hydraulic fluid from inside the mount. That's right, the mini cooper has a hydraulic motor mount for absorbing vibration, and they typically fail after 20k-60k miles. Brilliant. Luckily a couple years ago a company decided to try to solve the problem with an aftermarket part designed to last the life of the car. I hope so since it costs 3x the cost of the OEM part. No problems driving the car still, at least for now... the new part is on order.
