i preface this with "i think" to clarify that it's my opinion, not theology or anything official.

i think that good friday is like any other day for the christian in our inability to define it. every day in this life is a struggle between guilt and remorse (then repentance) and joy and thanksgiving (after forgiveness). like any emotional rollercoaster, there are times when this fluctuation of sinner and saint is not so obvious, and there are times when you feel like your stomach has taken a vacation south. who you are on any given good friday, where your faith is, and how God chooses to let His Word work in you - that determines how you will take this day of reflection.

that said, i awoke to the first cloudy and somber day in sioux falls for awhile... so maybe sometimes the weather plays a part, too...
