I got the stuff for my new computer today, and after quite a struggle getting everything to fit in my case (I think I put the heatsink/fan device on/off a dozen times), I find out it doesn't boot. Why? Because the memory is lonely, and it will only work when installed in pairs. So, I find now the price of the memory is $10 more, but after some investigating I find a place that has the same for only $4 more. So, my new computer will have a gig of ram, on accident. Oh well.
hahahahaha. I laugh at your ignorance. ;) It's interesting how at first there were SIMMs (single inline memory modules) and then came Pentium and we had to start installing them in pairs. Then they started making DIMMs (dual inline memory modules) so we woudln't have to install our modules in pairs. But, now with dual channel memory controllers we have to install even our DIMMs in pairs. When will the madness end? When I ask you? My prediction for the future: QIMMs (quad inline memory modules). But the computer market never follows my logic. I'm still waiting for Hexium processors, the logical successor to the Pentium.
here's my theory: first, there were the *sims. and if you would learn from them and their adventures in cities, helicopters, towers...and yes, finally in their homes and lives, you would find out what any *dim *sim addict knows: it's all about the pairs - getting your sim to have company around the house to keep him/her happy.
hexium, or sexium, I think they couldn't decide so they just started numbering again.
