Yes, I'm starting to get off my butt and get yet more photos posted. This time, wedding photos.

Ever wonder why Engineers are better communicators than humanities majors? If so, then read this article: How to Deconstruct Almost Anything--My Postmodern Adventure. It's a good read, and definitly somewhat humerous. I recommend reading the whole thing, although it is a bit lengthy (at least, by my taste).

well, that just goes to show why i'm an english major: "with a sufficient amount of clever handwaving and artful verbiage, you can interpret any piece of writing as a statement about anything at all." three cheers for "creative interpretation" and always being right.

Deconstruction
jenny says:

I think this can apply to visual art as well (I guess that's kind of obvious though... especially with abstract art I guess.) At least in my personal experience I know I can make several random associations to make something simple symbolize something overly complex. (Useful for arguing with evil AP English teachers to raise your grade.) Then again who is to say what is simple and complex.

But nevertheless I guess that's why I had a love/hate relationship with my art critism class... why is some piece generally accepted as "good" or "bad" when one can interpret it however you desire. (Or maybe I'm bitter that some people get paid just to voice their opinion.)

This turned out to be more "me" based than I would have liked, but I guess it goes to show that interpretation is biased by personal experiences. Oh well.
