2004.02.27 @ 00:12:59 Deficit of Decency

I got one of those email forwards today, somewhat long, from my Pastor. It is the text of a speach given by Senator Zell Miller of Georgia on a bill he was introducing. I was rather impressed with how well articulated the speach was, which is why I posted it, entitled Deficit of Decency on my Email Forwards page. I think it's worth reading all the way through.

I haven't posted anything on much of the stuff that's been in the news lately, but in case you're interested, I'll try to summarize my views. First, on the gay marriages, they are counter to the current laws on the books. I don't support gay marriage, but, to a greater degree, I don't support arbitrarily ignoring laws, particularly elected officials ignoring laws. Actually, thats all I care to talk about right now.

On the topic of my life, myself and my co-workers finally finished writing all the scripts to test the stuff I've been working on for, um, since I went to Italy. We still have debugging left to do, but it seems almost impossible that we got all that done. Not that I'm worried about not having work to do, but it will seem weird to not go in and be working on that. So, for then next couple days we'll be debugging like mad, hoping to get everything working before the demo starts.

After work today, stopped by my favorite mall to eat dinner at panda express... mmm, orange chicken. People watching wasn't as entertaining as it sometimes is. As I left I saw Costco in the distance and decided to go ahead and stop by there to try the next size up wetsuit and get some cereal (incidently, I think medium is the best size for me, so will end up returning the lg most likely). While there, I did a quick check through the life jackets again and spotted a medium. Woohoo! Neoprene life jackets are mucho more comfortable. Only down side is they are not so adjustable. Now we're all set to go skiing, just need slightly warmer weather.

Sen. Zell Miller, D-Georgia, is quite a fine man. It's a pity that he'll be retiring this year. He came out with a book a few months back that is supposed to be quite good, although I haven't been able to read it quite yet. I'd recommend it more strongly except for that fact.
