First, a quick rundown:
Sunday: Church was cool, I'm now officially a member at Gethsemane. I played bass, as usual. Afterwards I went to my brother's house, as we had some papers that needed signing and he got DSL hooked up, so I tinkered with that to see what exactly was going on. We of course forgot to sign the papers, so I'll have to make another trip sooner or later. Qwest didn't quite get things setup right on his DSL, so I need to call them and straighten it out. It works, fairly well. I'm hoping to move Typhoon there, however, I need to figure out how to do that given it's housing a lot of my data too. And what to do with Typhoon Cam, etc. After hangin out there for a while, I went back to Tempe to meet up with my bible study group, but instead of our normal bible study we went to an African Children's Concert. Yes, childeren actually from africa. I was most impressed with their english skills, supposidly they'd only been learning English for about a year.
Monday: Worked, got home, watched the men's championship game while eating some yummy pork chops & green beans. After the game, I finally worked up motivation to go running. Not planning to do this ahead of time, when I reached McDonalds at my 1.5 mile mark, I decided I should keep going further. So I ran down to the highway (extra .5 mile) - making for a nice 4 mile run. The weather was so perfect for running. 70 degrees, very slight wind, a bit of cloud cover so the city was brighter than normal, and it wasn't humid but not quite phoenix' normal super "your skin is going to look like a shattered CD" dry. Anyway, I haven't done 4 miles since, hrm, probably high school I guess.
Tuesday: Worked, got home, watched the women's championship game. Definitly more exciting than the men's game. Oh, but back up. At work, I finally had reason to go into the cool lab where they have the actual components that go into the aircraft that we use to test stuff out on. Very cool, and also a bit loud. Thankfully they have a supply of earplugs. Anyway, i made a yummy grilled chicken salad for dinner. Mmmm, very good.
Well, I thought maybe I'd have some inspiration to talk about some more abstract things, but that seems to have left me for now. So, I guess you just get the boring post for now.
the women's game was indeed awesome. i was secretly pulling for tenessee, but just because pat summit is such a legend. it's hard not to cheer for diana taurasi. she's just a great player and leader. to those who criticize her game or skills, i say: you try playing against a six foot plus point gaurd/shooting gaurd/post and then tell me what's up.
plus she had excellent form on that punt at the end of the game. how much do you want to bet she was a goaline in high school?
I'm curious what happened to the ball after the punt. It was quite a kick, I mean, a basketball isn't the easiest thing to kick, especially kicking it hard.
