Welcome to weekend update part two. This weekend proved to have its high points and low points.
Friday night I stayed around after worship practice to do some diagnostics on the keyboard at church, and got it working... again... something ate the DI box, which I had been using for weeks on my bass just fine. I left one of my boxes hooked up, so we'll see this coming friday if its still working. I also pulled at a 100-150' cord that was hooking up a monitor and replaced it with a 15 foot one... anything to reduce our cable clutter is helpful.
Saturday morning Al & I tackled the bush, filled a 39 gallon trash bag full of trimmings. In the afternoon we went out to look at houses. Expensive houses. The cheapest we saw was about 500k, and most expensive we estimated at 2-3M. It had a theater, 6 bedrooms, 2 washer dryers, an RV garage and regular garage, and that's juts in the main house... The guest house had its own garage, washer dryer, 2 bedrooms, and a small kitchen area. Yeah. I don't even know what you'd do with all that space.
Saturday night went to Chris' house for bbq with other boeing folks. It was good food, but me not really being into the drinking scene eventually ended up outside talking to the wives/girlfriends, and as such the conversation didn't really involve things I'm too interested in... for the most part.
Sunday morning was church, as usual. Since our pastor is gone on vacation all summer, one of the elder's filled in this week. We talked about the parable of the lost sheep, he did a really good job explaining the story and common misunderstandings.
After church I went up to ASU to see if I could figure out if Greer had any games that afternoon, and after looking over the tournament bracket and mozying around campus a bit (my how quickly buildings go up), found her team just before their last game. So I stayed and watched. Their team was very tired, many had been playing on twice as many games 'cause they had two teams in the tourney. It was evident, but still fun to watch. Afterwards, I was hoping to get my mattress from my brother back, but he was in Payson, so I ended up house shopping a bit. I found a few nice places, of course they're more expensive than I originally was thinking, but the location was fairly ideal in terms of splitting the difference between work and church. I'm rather torn on that front, part of me wants to get a house closer to church so I can use it to host church-related functions, and it would be much easier to invite my neighbor's to a church that's not 14 miles away. But, I also don't so much want to commute to work long distances, although it would be opposite the flow of traffic. Ah! Such a delima. At least I'm not in a hurry to move, this way I have time to contemplate this problem for long periods of time.
Didn't do too much after that, worked on website and shot some hoops. Thats one thing I do really like here is I can just walk across the street to play bball. Ok ok, I already talked enough about that. Watched the last quarter of the pistons/lakers game. That rounds out my weekend.
or as naomi prefers to make her big decisions...
heads...or tails.... heads.... or tails...
flip. smack. reveal... heads it is!
But then I have to decide which one gets heads and which gets tails!
