For those interested, you can view the current temperature in my house by vising http://cam.thetyphoon.net. Yup, your friendly neighborhood typhoon cam is pointed at my thermometer which I moved inside the house. Its on the floor, so the coolest possible temperature reading will be displayed.
As far as getting my a/c fixed, the ball is rolling, but very slowly. I guess thats what I get for trying to get my home warranty to cover it. More details later...
That is very much not cool, literally even (reads at about 97 as I'm posting). Reminds me of the storm we had here about eight years ago, though it wasn't a tornado (a joke those who lived here would get -- it came up short of the official definition, though not by much). Anyways, my house had to a/c units, one blew off and landed right next to our pool (which was under construction at the time), damaging the roof with a few bounces along the way, and the other blew off its thing (mount, stand, whatever it sits on) and was basically teetering on the edge of the roof, to fall off during the next windy storm. We spent a few weeks not living at home, which was not very pleasant.
My church has had similar issues with a/c units going out, though they have twelve, so when it's just one, it's not as bad (though they got up to three or four once, including the one for the offices). They replaced several, which really ate into the building fund. At least yours should be covered under warranty, that's very good.
Wow, 98 degrees at 1:30 AM... the next wow is that I'm still awake considering that it's 4:30 AM here ;)
Not fun. At work our HVAC system has not been working properly until a few weeks ago. We had a lot of patrons complaining that the farther out areas of the building (like the children's area) were too warm. They finally determined that only two of the six airconditioner units in the building were functioning properly. But still not as warm as what the thermometer is showing that you have. I saw on the news yesterday how hot it was in Phoenix. Hope you get it fixed soon and glad you have somewhere to escape to!
well the ball is rolling... so at least you've won the battle of inertia.
I moved the thermometer up to my desk, to get a more accurate reading. The good news, I have a serviceman coming out today to inspect the unit. The bad news, this is basically just to see if the warranty will cover it. So... wish me luck. Hopefully this will cause that ball to start rolling a whole lot faster.
