I was driving home from work the other day, going down Price Road (a frontage type road for those of you not familiar), coming upon the exit ramp from the freeway, where the lanes narrow down from two to one to allow space for the oncoming traffic. Also there is a yeild sign, which very largely and clearly states: "Yield to Ramp Traffic". So, being the good drive that I try to be, I slowed to allow the truck coming from the ramp to be able to cross the lanes, and noticed that the person behind me wasn't slowing as quickly as I was. However, the truck was rather large, so I continued to slow, and was ever so slightly nudged as I heard the tires lock up on the car behind me. I proceeded since the way was clear, and pulled into the parking lot not even 100 feet down the road, expecting the person behind me to follow. Clearly this was not a cause to hold up traffic for. After stopping, I noticed the other drive did not decide to stop. I quickly gave my bumper a look, and seeing that all was well decided to proceed to chase after this young lady, who clearly did not understand that it is not acceptable to hit my car and not at least stop to apologize.

At this point there were several cars in between me and her, so I drove quickly, yet safely, in an effort to catch up. I saw her turn off the main road, however it was not possible for me to make the same turn as I was in the opposite lane, attempting to close the gap further. Knowing the residential area she turned into, I looped around and came in another entrance, and saw her actually coming straight towards me, and then turning down another road. I followed, and stopped as she was pulling over. I believe my first words were "You could have stopped you know". I'm sure that made little if any sense to her. I further explained that she did in fact hit my car, and I did in fact stop and she did not. She said she was sorry, she "didn't realize" that she had hit my car. Okay. I find that unlikely, but it might be possible. I then proceeded to explain to her why I had slowed down, and even drew out the shape of a Yield sign in the air. She seemed completely clueless. She did not ask "oh, was there any damage", or "are you ok", no. She instead just continued to apologize. Really, once is enough. I might as well have been talking to a brick wall. For her sake, she was very lucky that there was not damage, or I would have been very angry with her complete lack of intelligence, and she would have been facing rather stiff fines for a hit and run. I finally threw my hands up in the air, and said, "I'm through talking with you" (I like that phrase), and headed back home.

Now, for more of what you probably don't care about... I got a credit card offer the other day for free money for a year. Being that my home depot bill is about to come due for the windows/carpet, I decided some free money would be nice, and called in to get it lined up. The next day, I get another offer - from the same company, for another card of free money for even longer than a year. Wow. Except, it was the same card that I already have. I'm not certain, but I don't think they allow that anyway. I opted to toss that one out, I don't know that I would ever be able to keep the two straight.

Man, I've accepted just about every 0% APR for a year card in existance and keep using them as interest free loans. Fun, fun.
