Last night, went to the House of Heat tailgate party before the ASU game, and Bryan had an extra guest pass, so I got to go to the game too. Tailgate was awesome, hit was hot of course, but, this is Arizona.

We went in to the game about an hour ahead of time. As is custom, we took wristbands for the section fairly near the endzone, since the other sections fill up quickly. Now, if you want to "sit" with your friends (basically you stand the whole game), you should decide ahead of time the section. Otherwise, the purple shirt people have to do their jobs and usher you away from your friends. Of course, with enough effort and "sneaking" you'll end up where you want to be anyway, it just makes it more of a pain, and tough on them.

If you want to sit up front, you have to get there early. Thats just how it works. Its funny to watch people try to get up front 10 minutes before the game starts. Sorry folks, even down by the end zone you're out of luck.

I didn't realize showing bra straps were in fashion this year. Now, I can't blame the gals too much, it was very hot, and humid, and lots of people packed in, and it smelled like a junior high locker room (and thats when the sewer smell wasn't around). T-shirt modification is definitely the in thing, with a high percentage of girls cutting the whole back of the shirt out, so it just ties around the neck and midway around the back... thus, showing the bra straps in back.

The flag carriers in the marching band (i'm sure they have a proper name) have yellow costumes. They look like super hero costumes, spandex tights and tight fitting tops - probably a bit warm to wear. Some also thought they looked like race car drivers, but I'm sticking with super hero without the cape (capes are dangerous afterall). But the costumes are yellow, instead of gold. I was disappointed with that. And the flags were orange. So, out on the field, you have the marching band wearing gold, the flag people wearing bright yellow, and the flags which were orange. Even I know better than to combine those all together.

Now the game itself, ASU really needs to work on the penalties, and not giving the game away. First quarter bad, 2nd and 3rd good... 4th, boring. Fun game to watch, and at least the other team had more than 3 points.

They're called the color guard, and I have to say that I haven't seen any t-shirt modification like that here. Instead there's just a large majority of the college population wearing athletic shorts everywhere...
