There's a minimum of four pieces of blog-worthy news, probably more, but I don't want to overwhelm you... usually you stop at 3 main points right? I'm already one over... So, here goes:
Custom:
My string trimmer (weed eater) broke on saturday morning... or, moreso, the handle that attaches the pull cord broke, leaving the cord to recoil completely inside the unit. What's an engineer to do? Fish out the line, and build his own custom handle:
Granite:
That same day, Margaret from work came over to cut and lay down the granite for the counter tops of her new house in Texas, to speed the installation process... Here's the semi-end result:
Roof:
I'm really draggin... I had roofers wednesday, thurday and friday all showing up at the crack of dawn to start work. The good news, the shingles are all done and the foam is down... the neither-good-nor-bad news is that the foam still needs two coats (not layers) of whatever you use to sorta paint/roll onto the foam to protect it. It will be tan with granules when it's all said and done. I do really like that the a/c duct is foamed, that ought to help a lot in the hot summers!
Promotion:
And the last bit of really good news is I was just promoted to level 3 at work (engineers go from level 1-6). Woohoo! All it really means is a pay raise, I'm not doing any different work, just technically I'm supposed to take on more leadership. Something like that. I'm excited though anyway!
Generic plaster floor demotions? :-) Great MacGyver impression! I like rustic slate! And... you are awesome :-D
