The tail of the bathroom projects... it started off as a simple idea, replace the cabinets. Fast forward a couple years, and here's where it's at... or, actually, where it was 3 weeks ago - I'll get some more pictures once I get my camera back, and time to do all that... but I can fill you in on the details a bit as we go.
The room was emptied. At this point we had removed all of the framing that had to go, and we were starting to put up the new frames.
A powder-charged nailgun was purchased for the occasion. Along the way, there was some... ok, a lot of electrical to fix up and replace. The electrical went into another room where we wanted to move some circuits around to balance them, and that's when we found...
The Mold. It was hiding under the fake-wood paneling and coating the drywall, as well as some of the insulation.
And so, the room was sealed off and the entire ceiling of the 'game room' has been removed. And then we removed all of the walls. for good measure. Right now the room is ready to be re-insulated. There's a little more work to do in getting the walls ready for drywall, but that won't take more than another evening or so.
We went a little overboard on the doors. The drywall here is for the 'bathroom' portion of the project. That drywall is all in-place, and nearly finished with the mud/tape job. The doors, however, are here for the rest of the entire house. Yup folks, new doors the whole way around... updated modern look, and solid-core to cut down on noise-pollution. The doors are all in living-room #2 waiting to be dealt with... they're going to be the last thing done.
