Earlier this week, as most people know, Presy Bush signed into law the bill which bans partial birth abortions. I'm not going to talk about that, but in general I think its a good thing. Instead, there's two side points relating to the general abortion topic to follow.
Ther other day at work in my down time (which I have occasionally when the systems are loaded) I was reading an article on CNN, a story which was not really anything new. Pregnant lady gets murdered. The point of interest, they want to charge the murderer with two counts of murder, one for the unborn child. This strikes me as extremely inconsistent with the general feeling in America (and Europe, etc.) that unborn babies are not fully human, and thus abortion is not murder and is legal. Maybe I'm failing to see the distinction.
On a side note, it pisses me off that Abortion is viewed and practicied as a woman's right, and the biological father is given absolutly no consideration at all. There's little stopping a pregnant woman from 'aborting' this father's would be child. It takes two to make the baby afterall. End of rant.
