So, tell me Christmas
Are we wise
To believe in things we never see
This Christmas Day by Trans-Siberian Orchestra
My, how time fly's by. Sometimes I wish I could stop it, even go back. Go back and do some things over again. Re-live some moments, and change some others. But then, would I stll be where I am today? Probably not. And that would be a shame.
Changing gears, we had our family Christmas celebration last night. Went to church at 1830, it was the "Festival" service, so lots of singing. Oh how I've missed that big pipe organ. Afterwards, we came home and snacked since we had our big dinner around 1400, so we weren't too hungry. Did the necessary formal picture taking, then exchanged presents. Most humerous moments: My dad's new boots were a bit small, it took me pulling on them to get them off, and then there were the gifts my brother and I gave to each other. We were shopping at Kohls earlier in the week, and they had these leather shirt jackets (as my brother calls them). We both liked them, and they were on sale, so we decided to just get them for each other to make life easier on ourselves. The plan, as I recall it, was to try to keep a straight face and see what our parents thought when we opened them and they were the same thing. Well, I kept my end up pretty well, but Ryan was laughing harder than I've ever seen him laugh I think. Apparently, while he was wrapping mine up my father was "quizzing" him, asking if I would like it, if it was the right size, and it was all my brother could do to say "yea, pretty sure it'll fit" (since he'd already seen it on me and such). So, he couldn't hold back anymore.
My mom got a new LCD monitor that I had helped my dad to pick out. I pursuaded her to install it, and in the process I noticed that her power supply fan was, well, not moving at all. Mark was online, so I asked him if he had an extra fan around, and he came over today quickly to help us swap it out. The old fan, yeah, the bearings are all shot, it hardly moves even with firm pressure.
So, that's been my excitement. As far as gifts for me, the main thing was a food processor from my grandmother, as my parents had already given me the bass guitar. I also picked up T3, a calendar, hot pads, a cool thermometer, board shorts, and a few other items.
Merry Christmas!
