2005.03.27 @ 00:20:54 I survived

It was tough, I mean down right difficult... but I pulled thru. My internet connection was down for nearly 2 hours tonight, but I hunkered down and road out the storm. I resorted to channel surfing when I couldn't pull up tv listings online, and even (get this) spent some time not at my computer.

I think that Good Friday has become my favorite religious holiday. Its one of the only major Christian "events" that the secular world hasn't somehow decided to add to in some way (i.e. Christmas - Santa Clause, Easter - Easter Bunny, etc). It's also one of the few things that I can reconize in such a way that people say "hmm, wonder why he's doing that". Yes, my Good Friday tradition is to wear black. All black, all day. I treat it if I'm going to a funeral. The common question I get is "What, did somebody die?" To which I get to respond "Yes", and hopefully give at least a little more explaination. The funnier thing is when one of my good Christian friends at work asked me if I was going to a funeral that day. I responded with "Yes, at 7:00", and went on to explain that was the time of my church's good friday service. My fellow Christians unfortunatly don't all take the day as seriously as I do. Even at church I think I was the only one wearing *all* black. Am I going overboard? Maybe, but it is one of the best witnessing tools I've found.

Since it's nearly that time, not even 2 hours shy here in MST, I wish you a happy and blessed Easter.
