I think I've told everyone who reads this, but just in case I missed someone...
Went up to Payson this past Tuesday (3rd) with Al. Had potentially planned to go with some other folks too, but that didn't work out. It was fairly nice when we got there, temp wise... but it was 9:00ish. The house was pretty warm, so we opened the house up, fighting a few spider webs that had built up. Sat out on the upper patio and talked waiting for the house to cool off, then watched a movie and slept. On the 4th we drove up the Rim and visited Willow Springs Lake, the largest and least well known of the "rim lakes" (there's no sign for the turn off, and no amenities). After walking around for an hour or so, we went on to Woods Canyon lake, which was notably smaller and more crowded, with camp grounds all around, fishing boat rentals (I'm hardly think even an electric motor is necessary on that lake), and a small store with groceries and bait. We had some ice cream sandwiches, as it was about 95 degrees nearing 12:30. Drove back to Payson, stopped at a very busy Wendy's, and then Home Depot and picked up some insect spray. Went back to the house, sprayed it, and then left for Phoenix... not much reason to stay in Payson when its over 100 degrees. So we went and worked on painting at Al's house for a few hours, then caught a few fireworks that we could see from the street. Oh, and my car thermometer read 120 once we were back in Mesa.
