Ok, so I'm reading articles now that the some company, probalby in cooperation with the RIAA, is attempting, or supporting, or somethinging the distribution of software which scans a computer for music files and deletes them automatically, or freezes a user's computer. Here's one of many links: NY Times For some reason, this whole madonna deal comes to mind. When you start doing things like this, the creative "hackers" start coming up with ideas on what they can do to you. You become an even larger target. Take, for example, the whole Madonna deal. She releases some lame mp3 on Kazaa, and hackers deface her website (search slashdot.org for articles relating to this). What'd she expect to happen? Anyway, besides all the legal issues with what these programs are doing, it's just pretty stupid.
